Machinery Training

In the shed we have many types of machinery that can be dangerous if used incorrectly, or safety measures are not adhered to.

Before you use any of our machines you must :-

  • Watch and understand any training videos or read and understand documentation relevant to that machine.

  • Ensure the machine is in good working order i.e. it shouldn't make an unusual noise when running.

  • Ensure that there are not nails , screws or other unsuitable materials embedded in the wood which may damage the blades.

  • Ensure you have sufficient space around the machine so as to work without undue reaching over the cutting or moving surfaces.

  • Use suitable PPE ( personal protective equipment).

  • Ensure dust and chipping extraction is connected and functional.

  • Consider your actions on other users of the facilities.

If you cannot fulfil the above do not use the machine
